Greetings to you all!
It is with great pleasure and privilege that I welcome you to the online home of Busoga Health Forum (BHF), which is the independent voice for health professionals linked to the Busoga (born/work/love Busoga) region in Uganda with links to the national and international communities. BHF is a national, not-for-profit, voluntary membership-based organization. The forum advocates for the improvement and maintenance of personal and community health through the development of health positions and policy alternatives based on the best available qualitative and quantitative evidence.
Our Vision is to mobilize Abe’Busoga and well-wishers towards accelerating efforts to improve health and thriving in Busoga. We aim to bring together the forces of Busoga health professionals on an open and inclusive platform as a focal point to maintain visibility, solutions, and action on the health problems in the Busoga region and beyond.
Our major strategic objective for 2020, is the support of the SDGs and is in line with Uganda’s Health sector strategic plan and the sharpened plan of ensuring universal health coverage by 2022. Our focus is to support access to and demand for health services aimed at improving and expanding health care for underserved communities, empowerment of communities most especially youth, women, and children in the East Central region of Uganda, creating sustainable community-led interventions that are supported by the technocrats.
We believe in addressing health challenges in a sustainable manner which requires a transformation of the socio-economic setting (education, health, food security, and livelihoods).
We look forward to working with you.
